Appennino Slow

We create travel experiences rooted in territories and people.

About us

Appennino Slow is a consortium company that operates mainly in the slow and sustainable tourism sector. We organize slow-paced trips throughout Italy, on foot or by bike, with an approach that is careful, responsible, and authentic.

While working on a national scale, our heart remains deeply connected to our territory, the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines—the land where we live, which we know deeply and love to share with those who travel with us. This is where our way of designing experiences takes shape: tailored to the territory, to people, and to time.

This identity is also reflected in our direct involvement in managing routes such as the Via degli Dei, the first sustainable trail recognized globally. We promote tourism capable of generating shared value, for those who travel and for those who live in the places crossed. We believe in a way of traveling that brings together memory and future, nature and culture, relationship and discovery.

As a tour operator, we design each itinerary in a personalized way, focusing on a few core principles:

  • the protection and enhancement of historical, natural, and intangible heritage
  • the authenticity of traditions and local cultures
  • the real encounter between travelers and communities
  • the concrete commitment to an increasingly accessible and inclusive tourism

Appennino Slow is this: conscious, respectful, human tourism, born in the Apennines and open to all of Italy.

Vision

We dream of a tourism that does not consume but regenerates, capable of creating value for those who travel and for those who live in the Apennines. A tourism that walks slowly and knows how to recognize beauty in the details.

We believe in a tourism that lives in continuity between past and present, between memory and future. A tourism made of care, of relationships, of ideals. A way of traveling that is good for those who leave and for those who stay.

How we work

Our trips are only authentic experiences, and to guarantee this we collaborate with selected local partners who share our values

  • Tailor-made trip planning with pre-departure consultancy
  • On-site welcome by our team upon arrival
  • Traditional, welcoming accommodation facilities
  • Exclusively local guides, available and trained in problem-solving
  • 24/7 on-site assistance guaranteed
  • Groups of 6 to 14 people maximum

Mission

We take care of people and their needs, supporting them before and during their journey in the Apennines. We work with professionalism, in collaboration with public institutions and local operators, to create shared value and build a development model that counters depopulation, strengthens local networks, and offers new opportunities.

We create a kind of tourism that does not merely observe, but builds relationships with places and communities, respecting the rhythms of nature and local life. Through walking routes, experiences, and storytelling paths, we aim to bring to light the less visible beauties, hidden corners, and authentic curiosities that make every journey unique.
