Escursioni Maestre – Weaving paths to grow together
Escursioni Maestre is the meeting point, space for exchange and sharing between two outdoor educational and social projects – Strade Maestre and Escursione Sospesa – and was created to offer an opportunity for human, social, and cultural enrichment to their young participants.
From April 5 to April 13, 2025, accompanied by the teachers of Strade Maestre and the environmental guides of Escursione Sospesa, the boys and girls involved in the two projects will set off together along the trails of the Apennines, between Tuscany and Emilia, living an extraordinary experience of learning and exchange.
Each stage of this journey will include a part dedicated to trekking and one to education: during the lessons, the students will be able to experience an innovative “immersive” learning method, as they will physically be in the places described in their school books.
In Orsigna they will walk the paths once tread by Tiziano Terzani; in Pianaccio they will admire the same landscapes so beloved by Enzo Biagi; and finally they will reach the Monte Sole Historical Park, a place of resistance and memory.
The goal of Escursioni Maestre is first and foremost to encourage young people to challenge themselves through knowledge and cooperation, thus embarking on a path of inclusion, discovery, and growth. For the young participants, it will be a unique and unrepeatable life experience, fundamental for personal enrichment.
Each of us can be part of this extraordinary journey!
Your contribution, big or small, will be used to support the group in several ways: • Cover accommodation, food, and transport costs for the entire group (Strade Maestre class, Escursione Sospesa beneficiaries, and accompanying staff) during the shared stretch of the journey;
- Allow the group to access educational experiences, such as museum visits, both during the walk and during their stay in Bologna;
- Ensure that Escursione Sospesa beneficiaries have the technical equipment needed to experience a week on the move;
- Provide fair compensation to the professionals involved in the project (teachers, guides, videomakers, educators);

ESCURSIONE SOSPESA – inclusive mountains
A social project that, through hiking events and outdoor sports activities open to the public, involves minors and adults living in situations of social marginalization and/or economic vulnerability.
An educational program that allows high school students to experience a full school year on the move, accompanied by environmental guides and teachers, with lessons inspired by the places they travel through.
